When it all starts from a simple act:
incorporating our thoughts.

It is not only the discovery of the virtuous potential of the body, but rather a study of the surprisingly deep intensity and energy that springs from the particular intention of a spontaneous motion, the most fundamental expression of communication.

CHOREOGRAPHING
THOUGHTS AND INSPIRATIONS — What do you want the audience to take away from the performance or what do you want to say with this performance.

PERFORMING
AUDIENCE'S EXPECTATION — A show. When an audience invests in a show they want to be entertained. Whether they cry, smile, laugh or sigh with googly eyes, it is the performer’s obligation to make them feel.

POLE
IT IS — In it’s technical form it is dance artistry with a stabilized, vertical object. But beyond that it is aerial Art in motion meant to evoke emotions of all kinds, while pushing the limits of physical feats.

EVGENY ALEKSEEVICH GRESHILOV  |  POLE DANCE ARTIST & ATHLETE

This is what i was looking for a long time. With pole I do combine everything that I have been studying. Theater combines with circus arts and choreography.

Even if my dance background helped me and still helps, pole dance it is not a usual dance. You should be able to do very difficult tricks and dance after that easy and relaxed. To do all moments in your performance flow with clean moves, to be confident and musical.

WHEN THE WORDS FAIL

NATASHA WANG  |  AERIAL POLE PERFORMER

POLE IS
Pole is a means for creative personal expression, an emotional catharsis and release, and a way to communicate to the world when words fail.

[...] All these disciplines can help and enhance a pole practice. Above all, the No1 activity I encourage to help with pole is sleep. It’s so important to repair and rebuilt the muscles with adequate rest.

MARION CRAMPE  |  AERIAL ARTIST & PERFORMER

"First of all, I would love to tell that it means a lot to me to talk about this piece because some weeks ago my hometown was victim of an enormous and devasting flood which destroyed everything. Now the beautiful landscape is a mess and the spot, where we filmed this performance, does not exist anymore".

THE SPACE: NATURE
Nature is a part of me as I am a part of it. A complete exchange of different energies. I feel very connected with it. It is part of my education. It was natural to build this piece full of harmony. The relation between the harmony in nature and the one in life is reflected between movement and dance.

FOETUS

FOETUS

SARAH CAVENAILE  |  OWNS THE DYNAMIC

Inspired myself from the butoh. Special facial expressions and tortured movements.

The womb of his mother. The pole being a kind of umbilical corld.
The foetus wakes up from his security position and starts to discover the world around him, touching the walls of his space with his hands and feets, kicking and then evolving in a larger and transposed space, trying to keep in mind this intention of discovery and this very slow pace due to the liquid environnment he is moving into.
At the end, after all this exhausting journey of exploration, the foetus feels the need of security and love and is happy to find back its little warm space in the womb of his mother.

Crafting the performative present… using languages of movement, words & sound.

In my craft or artistic production... Inspired by and use sound, music and rhythm heavily in my improvisation, choreography and daily life. A bass addict, the lower and louder, the better. A lot of research has been done into the biological effects of infrasound.

POLE MEANS
A culture, an art itself, a way of life, my therapy.
The freedom of discovery.
