WE DON'T FIGHT

WE DON'T FIGHT

IS
Jeet Kune Do is a martial arts system of expressing yourself. It was conceived by Bruce Lee while he was researching various systems in order to find a common truth behind all fighting systems and martial arts. Jeet Kune Do is formless, the idea behind Jeet Kune Do's philosophy is based on the fact, that all human beings have the same physiology but different characteristics, therefore e.g. there is no Chinese or Japanese way of fighting. Each person can learn and incorporate any style or tactic based on his/her needs, so essentially JKD is the first modern Mixed Martial Art.

WHY FIGHTING
Fighting is not only what you see in movies, this is combat. Fighting is an indispensable part of life and evolution itself. We struggle in all levels of our everyday lives. So we, don't fight – life, fights by itself. A JKD fighter wins by being able to use his/her mind and adapt to every situation by using the right means.

THE NEW REFORM OF FIGHTING
The new form of fighting is to mix things up, all arts have their respective disciplines and the modern fighter can take pieces of all arts and put them together to make his/her own puzzle of disciplines and evolve from there. In general, the advantage of martial arts cross-training, is the increase of awareness and ability of the body and mind to adapt to various scenarios and possible situations. JKDs discipline is to use no way as a way and have no limitation as a limitation.

COMBINING DANCE
In dance as in martial arts the basic movement and awareness disciplines apply. Contact, coordination, kinesthetics, reflexes, flexibility, physical conditioning and many more are in the everyday arsenal of both the dancer and the martial artist. Partnering and contact is crucial to JKD as it's a live system that evolves with practice. New ideas come and go and old ideas reform. So training with a partner and having real contact is essential. Its like performing a martial dance with your partner.

USING ACROBATICS
JKD focuses on improving the spiritual and physical expression of oneself. When the universe around you contracts –you contract, when it expands– you expand, given the abilities of the individual, the acrobatic movement should just happen when necessary.

QUALITIES
The topmost quality for any martial system, is to change the life of the practitioner towards a positive attitude and to make him/her a better person, through the understanding of what conflict truly is in everyday life. Also on another level, the practitioner gains the benefits of physical training and mind clarity.
