DECISIONS
The more we need to make decisions on our own, about ourselves, the more we realize the freedom of choices we have got. If one of my choices is Yoga then it is reflected on me and as a result there is no difference.

 

MEANING
The cause of my studying and being informed was my search for alternative therapies, related to my profession as a therapist.  Yoga means “connection-junction”. Yoga is the method in which we consciously seek our connection to our superior self, our truth, life itself and our surroundings. The same thing happens with reiki. Instead of practicing Yoga, it was an alternative to my limited choices as a permanent resident of Santorini. So, although my beliefs agreed to the philosophy of Yoga, I always considered that it was a kind of exercise which did not meet my needs of unbending, without having trying it, until I entered a trial class after a year and I can certainly say that Yoga is a piece of myself and my personal searching. What matters to me is being able to know, benefit and discover myself through Yoga, not if it was, is and will be a new trend.
 

BODY - MOVEMENT - MIND
After a Swuami Saraswati’s lecture in Gandhi’s medical college, Yoga’s school in Bihar was founded in 1964, in order to promote the science of Yoga among people. People of recent civilization have discovered that the way towards peace and good health is hidden in Yoga,   which was misunderstood for centuries because it was believed to be a heresy. Nowadays most of us are able to understand the secrets of Yoga and reach the open-minded conclusion that Yoga has a definite, clear, uncontested solution to human difficulties as it may solve a lot of problems. It doesn’t just solve spiritual problems, it is also helpful to our everyday diseases. Let’s not forget that meditation has a positive effect on our brain. By practising Yoga we help our mind, we observe our body and its needs.
 

DENIAL
It is our defensive mechanism to accepting something completely alien to our personal data. It is the denial of our personal success , our achievement of new goals in our lives and of new, extraordinary scenarios. It is determined by our choices. I deny immobility, I deny the word “can’t”, I deny everything that isn’t helpful and progressive.
 

BALANCE
It dominates everything. It is the intellectual or emotional stability, the physical stability, the power and ability of decision, the equality between two entireties, the harmony of elements. Equality between decisions and wills is balance for me.
 

HARMONY
Harmony in my everyday life is the ability to express my emotions instead of pretending, to have high self esteem, to face difficulties with more confidence time after time.
 

NOSTALGIA
I tend to feel nostalgic for old, good moments and I forget all bad moments of my past, because I am a positive person as I believe.
 

AIR
The element of nature that determine our lives. Air affects our thought, our speech and our sociability. I personally feel disarranged and at the same time freed by its power.
 

VERTICAL
Vertical is the orientation that I have to follow. Vertical is the musical interval where two notes sounds simultaneously. Vertical is a bouree dance, an old quick french one in 2/2. Vertical decisions, vertical choices. Horizontal decisions, horizontal choices. Sometimes it looks like we fight for the straight line. No matter what, the point is to realise that you are on the line. You will find the balance.
 

NOW
Now is what we all put away more or less. We usually think of the past and the future and present is left out as a memory. If we think of our life as a journey it is beneficial to know our destination or at least our direction. However if our destination or the steps we consider taking in the future absorb all of our attention and become more important than the steps we are currently taking, it is more likely that we will never reach our destination. Let’s not forget our destination, but also let’s not lose our inner target. We have to live each moment in order to make conscious choices.
 

THE BASIC FACTOR OF INTENTION
We can work on our thoughts during working on our body and our movement by sending our intention and our energy towards the direction we each time want in order to help our body. Yoga is a basic factor in the connection of mind with body and breath. Check the result.

More real, more conscious, with a single code of communication and expression.
 

THE THROUGH-PHYSICAL-MOVEMENT SOCIETY 
A new society through movement would not seek for a flexible body but a flexible mind. By observing our movement we can reach the best organizing of our actions. Movement helps us improve our position, flexibility, co-ordination of our moves, artistic ability and creativity.
 

MAKE IT CONTEMPORARY
Yoga is much more than an exercising program. It is a valuable source of our physical, emotional and psychological well being. Contemporary Yoga could be a studying program in several sectors of care, in medicine schools, teachers or professionals of psychological health for example. It would be contemporary Yoga if it would be free to patients who need it.
